Van Hire FAQs

You can book online through our website 24/7, or call us directly. We recommend booking in advance, especially for weekends and bank holidays, as vans can fill up quickly.

We offer flexible hire periods from half a day to multiple days. Discounts are available for longer hire periods — contact us for a tailored quote.

Online bookings need at least 24 hours' notice before pickup. For shorter notice, give us a call — we can often help, subject to availability.

You can cancel free of charge up to 48 hours before your hire start time. Cancellations within 48 hours may be subject to a charge. Please contact us as soon as possible if your plans change.

There are two separate deposits. The booking deposit paid online when you reserve your van is non-refundable. The van hire deposit of £150 taken on the day of hire is fully refundable, provided the van is returned on time, undamaged, and in the same condition as collected.

Yes — standard insurance is included in the hire price, so there's nothing extra to pay for most drivers. We arrange the cover directly as part of the booking process. A small surcharge may apply for younger drivers or certain driving licence history. See our Insurance page for full details.

You'll need a valid full UK driving licence (both parts if you have a paper licence) and proof of address issued within the last three months. Full requirements are listed on our Insurance page.

Drivers must be at least 21 years old and have held a full UK driving licence for a minimum of 12 months. Additional charges may apply for drivers under 25.

No — we arrange insurance for you as part of the booking. You do not need to provide your own policy.

Our vans can be driven anywhere in the UK mainland. Each hire includes 150 miles per day. Additional mileage is charged at 15p per mile.

Yes, you can drive throughout the UK mainland. Travel to Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland is not permitted.

We currently run one van: a long-wheelbase medium panel van, kept clean, well maintained and regularly serviced. Larger and smaller sizes are not in the fleet at the moment, so please call before planning around one. Our Fleet page always reflects what is actually available.

Our medium long-wheelbase van suits student moves, small flat moves and transporting bulky furniture and appliances. For a full multi-bedroom house move you may need something larger than we currently hold — give us a call and we will tell you honestly whether it will cover the job.

Yes. Our long-wheelbase van takes dirt bikes, kayaks, paddleboards, surfboards and other large sporting equipment. Tie-down straps are available on request.

Yes! Tip runs are one of our most popular uses. Our vans are perfect for garden waste, old furniture, and DIY clear-outs across Lytham, St Annes, and the Blackpool area.

Most of our vans have manual gearboxes. Please mention at the time of booking if you require an automatic and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Yes. We serve Blackpool and the wider Fylde Coast. The van is collected from and returned to our depot in Ansdell, Lytham St Anne's, so Blackpool customers drive over to us and take the van from there.

Yes. Our depot is on Woodlands Road in Ansdell, which sits between Lytham and St Anne's, so it is a short local trip from either. The full address and a map are on our Contact page.

We regularly hire to customers across Lytham, Ansdell, St Anne's, Blackpool and the wider Fylde Coast, and the van can be driven anywhere on the UK mainland once you have it.

Our standard service is self-drive collection from our Ansdell depot — that keeps the price down and the handover proper, since we walk round the van with you before you take it. If collection is genuinely difficult for you, call us and we will see what we can arrange.

We are open Monday to Saturday. We are closed on Sundays. Hours may vary on bank holidays — check our Contact page or give us a call to confirm.

Vans should be returned clean and with the same fuel level as collection. Excessive dirtying or damage beyond normal wear may incur additional charges.
