Booking & Availability

How do I book a van?

You can book online through our website 24/7, or call us directly. We recommend booking in advance, especially for weekends and bank holidays, as vans can fill up quickly.

How long can I hire a van for?

We offer flexible hire periods from half a day to multiple days. Discounts are available for longer hire periods — contact us for a tailored quote.

Can I book a van at short notice?

Yes, subject to availability. We often have same-day availability during the week. Check our online booking tool or give us a call to confirm.

What is your cancellation policy?

You can cancel free of charge up to 48 hours before your hire start time. Cancellations within 48 hours may be subject to a charge. Please contact us as soon as possible if your plans change.

Is a deposit required?

There are two separate deposits. The booking deposit paid online when you reserve your van is non-refundable. The van hire deposit of £150 taken on the day of hire is fully refundable, provided the van is returned on time, undamaged, and in the same condition as collected.

Insurance & Documents

Is insurance included in the van hire price?

Insurance is required for every booking — you cannot hire a van without it. We arrange insurance directly as part of the booking process. Pricing is typically around £25/day and varies based on your age and driving licence history. See our Insurance page for full details.

What documents do I need to bring?

You'll need a valid full UK driving licence (both parts if you have a paper licence) and proof of address issued within the last three months. Full requirements are listed on our Insurance page.

What age do I need to be to hire a van?

Drivers must be at least 21 years old and have held a full UK driving licence for a minimum of 12 months. Additional charges may apply for drivers under 25.

Do I need my own insurance?

No — we arrange insurance for you as part of the booking. You do not need to provide your own policy.

Mileage & Travel

How far can I travel with your vans?

Our vans can be driven anywhere in the UK mainland. Each hire includes 150 miles per day. Additional mileage is charged at 15p per mile.

Can I drive to Scotland or Wales?

Yes, you can drive throughout the UK mainland. Travel to Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland is not permitted.

What types of van do you have available?

Are your vans suitable for moving house?

Yes — our vans are ideal for small house moves, student moves, and transporting bulky furniture and appliances. We recommend our long wheelbase van for larger loads.

Can I transport dirt bikes, kayaks, or outdoor equipment?

Absolutely. Our long wheelbase vans can accommodate dirt bikes, kayaks, paddleboards, surfboards, and other large sporting equipment. Tie-down straps are available on request.

Can I hire a van to take rubbish to the tip?

Yes! Tip runs are one of our most popular uses. Our vans are perfect for garden waste, old furniture, and DIY clear-outs across Lytham, St Annes, and the Blackpool area.

Are the vans automatic or manual?

Most of our vans have manual gearboxes. Please mention at the time of booking if you require an automatic and we will do our best to accommodate you.

What are your opening hours for collection?

We are open Monday to Saturday. We are closed on Sundays. Hours may vary on bank holidays — check our Contact page or give us a call to confirm.

What condition should I return the van in?

Vans should be returned clean and with the same fuel level as collection. Excessive dirtying or damage beyond normal wear may incur additional charges.
